SOC LLC
Data Architect needed for a contract opportunity with SOC's client to work in Newark, NJ. This position located in Newark, NJ. Ideal candidate must be local to the area and able to go into the office periodically when needed. If not local, they must be willing to travel as needed.
Contract Length:
6 months, possible extension
The Data Architect is responsible for designing and overseeing the organization's data infrastructure, developing scalable frameworks for how data is collected, stored, integrated, and accessed to support business objectives. They collaborate closely with data engineers, analysts, business stakeholders, and compliance teams to align data strategy with organizational goals and drive successful implementation.
Responsibilities
Work with business SMEs to understand analytical and reporting requirements
Translate business and reporting needs into conceptual, logical, and physical data models
Define data standards, relationships, and data pipeline transformation requirements for data engineering implementation
Design and implement and Redshift data models, including tables, views/materialized view to ensure optimal performance and scalability
Required Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in related field with 8+ years of experience as a data engineer. Additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Experience in transformation business requirements into optimal data model. Ideally experience working with customer analytics.
Expertise in dimensional modeling (Star and Snowflake schemas)
Experience with AWS Redshift and performance optimization
Knowledge of AWS Glue, Redshift, Step Functions for data architecture
Familiar with AWS DataZone for data lineage and governance
Self-driven and have demonstrated the ability to work independently with minimum guidance
Demonstrated multitasking ability, problem solving skills and a consistent record of on time delivery and customer service
Excellent organizational and communication skills

AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional (or Associate)
AWS Certified Data Engineer - Associate
