We seek a senior project manager to lead large projects or multiple projects simultaneously, working independently with minimal oversight. Provide strong leadership and consult with field project managers, general contractors (GCs) and owners to nurture successful relationships and project success. Lead pre-construction, preplanning, and construction scheduling; leverage relationships with GCs to grow Batchelor & Kimball business. Manage subcontractors to meet project timelines and budget; take ownership and accountability for projects under direction. Resolve complex scheduling and budget problems as an active project team member. Review and approve project budgets (labor, material, subcontractors) to allocate resources from start to finish within budgetary limits. Negotiate and create subcontractor contracts with external vendors to benefit the project. Manage project finances including profitability and cash flow; provide indirect leadership to construction crews. Engage in design conflict resolution with engineers, architects, and other trades to determine project specifications. Lead strategic planning, submittals, RFIs, and change order processes; implement monthly cost reports and projections. Identify and resubmit change orders as necessary; ensure timely payment of supplier and subcontractor invoices. Ensure adherence to health and safety standards and report issues; prioritize safe working environments. Prefer candidates with strong Bluebeam and Procore management skills. Understand construction procedures, materials, and project management principles; identify CAD, fabrication, and field labor resources as needed. Qualifications / Knowledge, Skill and Ability
Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. Dependability and ability to work in a fast-paced construction office environment. Ability to organize and manage documents related to work orders and personnel; aptitude to learn new systems. Mechanical knowledge and project management expertise; ability to train estimating staff on project management aspects. Understanding of company resource production capabilities and daily coordination with the Superintendent. Proactive vendor and supplier procurement skills. Education / Experience
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university; or 10+ years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Construction Management, Construction Science, Mechanical Engineering, or similar degree highly preferred. Minimum of 4 years leading large, multi-million-dollar complex construction projects.
