E1582: Quality Engineer , Avionics Product Center Quality Engineering Team, Stratford-CT
Overview Lockheed Martin, a global leader in aerospace and defense, is seeking a highly motivated quality engineer to drive quality initiatives in the Avionics Product Center Backshop. This role leads quality planning, first‑article inspections, root‑cause analysis, and corrective actions, ensuring quality standards across the product lifecycle.
Responsibilities
Lead development and implementation of quality planning, inspection methods, and first‑article inspections.
Drive root‑cause and corrective action investigations to improve product quality.
Coordinate with Engineering, Operations, and Procurement on product quality issues and issue resolution.
Contribute to Daily Review Teams (DRT), Corrective Action Board (CAB), high‑visibility escape management, and data analytics to identify trends.
Promote continuous improvement through Enterprise Excellence tools such as Relentless Root Cause Analysis and DIVE.
Support Material Review Board, Quality Council, Product Safety, and ESH initiatives.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
Experience reading engineering drawings.
Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Excellent communication skills for structured preparation and delivery.
Adaptability and flexibility.
Ability to handle multiple tasks across processes simultaneously.
Desired Skills
Background in ISO 9001/AS9100.
Experience with Sikorsky helicopters and/or aerospace manufacturing.
Basic quality engineering knowledge.
Familiarity with failure analysis.
Root‑cause analysis, mistake‑proofing, and technical writing skills.
Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T).
Employment Full‑time, onsite, 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week. No telecommuting. Shift: First.
Pay and Benefits Base salary range: $67,000 – $117,990 (varies by location). Eligible for incentive plan.
