Position Summary
The
Vice President of Human Resources
will lead the transformation of Sonwil’s HR function into a high-performing, strategic business partner that drives measurable business outcomes. This role requires a hands-on, forward-thinking leader who can align HR initiatives with Sonwil’s growth, profitability, and cultural goals—elevating HR’s value through data, accountability, and strong partnerships.
You’ll oversee all HR functions, including talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, total rewards, compliance, and leadership development. Success in this role will be measured by clear KPIs reflecting HR’s direct contribution to operational excellence and financial performance.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Partnership
Develop and execute an HR strategy aligned with Sonwil’s long-term growth and operational objectives.
Partner closely with senior leadership to forecast workforce needs and drive organizational design initiatives.
Lead cultural development, change management, and engagement strategies that strengthen performance and retention.
Build HR’s credibility and visibility as a trusted, solutions-oriented business partner.
Talent Acquisition & Management
Oversee end-to-end recruitment strategies to attract, hire, and retain high-performing talent.
Enhance onboarding and development programs to accelerate productivity and engagement.
Drive consistent and fair performance management practices across departments.
Implement succession planning and leadership development to build internal pipelines.
Employee Relations & Engagement
Foster a positive, inclusive, and collaborative culture rooted in respect and accountability.
Handle employee relations matters promptly and fairly, ensuring consistent application of policies.
Promote open communication and continuous improvement through regular engagement and feedback channels.
Compensation, Benefits & Total Rewards
Design and manage competitive, performance-based compensation structures.
Maintain compliance and efficiency in payroll and benefits administration.
Benchmark market data to ensure pay equity and competitiveness.
Compliance & Risk Management
Ensure compliance with all state, federal, and local employment laws.
Conduct HR audits and lead corrective action planning where needed.
Maintain current HR policies and procedures to align with best practices and regulatory standards.
Learning, Development & Training
Create and lead training programs for leadership, management, and HR staff.
Identify skill gaps and develop programs to enhance capability and readiness.
Track and measure training effectiveness and organizational impact.
Analytics & Reporting
Leverage HR data and analytics to guide strategic decisions.
Establish, track, and report on KPIs such as turnover, engagement, and productivity.
Continuously refine processes for efficiency, scalability, and measurable ROI.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Recruitment & Retention:
Time-to-fill; 12-month new hire retention; voluntary turnover rate.
Engagement:
Employee engagement and HR service satisfaction scores.
Performance Management:
Timely completion and quality of reviews.
Development:
Completion rate of annual learning and leadership plans.
Compliance & Process:
Policy adherence, HRIS utilization, and audit readiness.
Compensation Alignment:
Pay-for-performance correlation metrics.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred).
10 - 15 years of progressive HR leadership experience, ideally within logistics, manufacturing, or related industries.
5 years+ of direct management experience.
Demonstrated success transforming HR into a data-driven, strategic business partner.
Experience leading HR teams and building scalable, KPI-driven processes.
Proficiency in HR systems, analytics, and process design.
Excellent communication, coaching, and change management skills.
Strong business acumen with the ability to link HR initiatives to measurable business outcomes.
