At Walmart Global Tech, the Compute Engineering Services (CES) team maintains the electrical infrastructure that powers Walmart’s global data centers. This role focuses on deploying and maintaining electrical systems that support compute and server infrastructure, including Power Distribution Units (PDUs), cabling, in-rack power management, environmental monitoring, and related facilities work. The team collaborates with store systems, network engineering, and eCommerce to ensure reliability and performance across Walmart’s technology foundation. What you’ll do
Install, maintain, and troubleshoot Power Distribution Units (PDUs) and electrical systems supporting compute and server infrastructure. Perform load balancing, power safety checks, and preventive maintenance to maintain uptime in high-demand environments. Support electrical testing, commissioning, and data center expansion projects, ensuring work meets code and safety requirements. Collaborate with engineers and vendors to ensure installations support compute systems’ operational and performance goals. Conduct environmental and power audits, document system changes, and participate in infrastructure improvement initiatives. Ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA, and internal safety standards while contributing to continuous process and reliability improvements. What You’ll Bring
Journeyman Electrician License (required). Proven hands-on experience in critical infrastructure environments, including vendor oversight and power maintenance. Strong understanding of OSHA safety regulations, NFPA codes, and electrical compliance frameworks. Experience with preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and operational safety protocols. Bonus Points
Experience with data center power systems, utility plant components, or building automation. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Service Now for documentation and maintenance management. Strong attention to detail with a focus on documentation, SOPs, and process improvement. Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate across engineering, mechanical, and operations teams.
