Overview
Credit Manager role at Kawasaki Motors Corp., U.S.A. (KMRF). Kawasaki Motors Retail Finance is seeking a motivated and experienced Credit Manager to lead our underwriting team. This role is crucial to the establishment and success of our underwriting operations and to managing Credit Operations for our powersports dealer partners who will submit credit applications to KMRF. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the underwriting staff, developing underwriting policies, and ensuring efficient and effective underwriting operations. Responsibilities
Manage and oversee the credit operations department, ensuring timely and accurate adjudication of credit decisions. Lead and manage the underwriting team, providing guidance and support to ensure high performance. Establish and follow Decision Turn Time SLAs for Dealer Service Center. Develop and implement comprehensive underwriting policies and procedures. Collaborate with Processors, Sales, and external customers, delivering high quality service. Underwrite loans by performing thorough due diligence analysis and reviewing loan documentation in accordance with company policies, procedures, lending guidelines, and loan programs offered. Evaluate and analyze complex credit applications to determine risk and make informed approval decisions. Regularly review and analyze funding processes to identify opportunities for efficiency improvements. Ensure underwriting operations comply with regulatory requirements and company standards. Take initiative with a clear business mind, providing problem-solving solutions in collaboration with appropriate parties before, during, and after closing. Utilize Microsoft Office and Loan Origination Systems (LOS) to oversee and manage loan applications. Escalate and evaluate loan exceptions to management for review and final decision. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all underwriting decisions and documentation. Collaborate with other departments to achieve organizational goals and improve operational efficiency. Manage, mentor, train and assist a team of both experienced and new underwriters; provide training and professional development opportunities. Review loans for completeness, accuracy, compliance and raise potential risks and concerns, including deficiencies in funding. Deliver excellent customer service and support to dealers and customers regarding financing options. All other job duties as assigned. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or a related field preferred. Previous experience in underwriting or related financial services is mandatory. Minimum of 5-7 years of underwriting experience, with at least 2-3 years in a managerial role. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Strong familiarity with Loan Origination Systems (LOS). Effective interpersonal skills for working across teams and departments. Excellent analytical, decision-making, and leadership skills. Superior communication and interpersonal abilities. Excellent management and leadership skills. Ability to work on-site at our Dallas, TX office. Profile Differentiators
