Overview This is an in-person Audiologist role to perform medical assessments on United States Veterans as part of the VA's disability benefits process. The veteran files the claim before the appointment; medical records are reviewed in a computer portal during the appointment. The Audiologist will perform a Maryland CNC Test and Puretone Audiometric test and will complete a Disability Benefits Questionnaire (DBQ) in the computer portal. The DBQ forms the medical evidence that allows the VA to decide the veteran’s benefits. The Audiologist will NOT prescribe any medical treatments or devices.
Responsibilities
Review veteran medical records in the portal prior to or during the appointment.
Conduct Maryland CNC Test and Puretone Audiometric test.
Complete a Disability Benefits Questionnaire (DBQ) in the computer portal.
Provide assessments for 3-6 veterans per day on average.
Maintain in-person patient appointments with no evenings, no on-call, no weekends, and no hearing aid sales.
Qualifications
Au.D and graduation from an ASHA Accredited school.
Current license as an Audiologist.
Employment details
Schedule: Part Time, 2-3 days/week.
Location: In-person position.
Patient time: 1 hour to 1 hour 30 minutes per patient.
