Overview
PRIDE Case Manager role at The Family Partnership. The Family Partnership has built strong families, vital communities, and better futures for children through counseling, education, and advocacy in the greater Minneapolis and St. Paul area. This position focuses on support for survivors of sex trafficking, sexual exploitation, or prostitution, providing case management, crisis intervention, advocacy, and collaboration with community partners. Responsibilities
Provide support, crisis intervention, case management, and advocacy services to individuals who are victims of sex trafficking, sexual exploitation, or prostitution. Conduct support or process groups for youth, young adults, and adults who are survivors of sex trafficking, in-house and in corrections facilities around the metro area. Provide crisis intervention, information, referral, and case management in-person and over the phone; travel to meet clients in the community as a regular requirement. Connect clients with community resources and assist them in using those resources. Assist clients with creating safety and goal plans and monitor progress regularly. Provide court advocacy as needed and maintain partnerships with law enforcement; support partners with operations related to victims of sex trafficking. Offer transportation to clients as needed and assist with transition or release plans for incarcerated clients not currently engaged with other services. Assist clients in obtaining and maintaining housing; coordinate services among client, probation officers, social workers, treatment centers, shelter teams, therapists, medical professionals, etc. Facilitate outreach in the community, including court outreach in government centers and public safety facilities; attend regular community meetings related to justice-involved clients. Represent the program in judicial, criminal justice, and law enforcement settings; provide training and education about PRIDE Program and sex trafficking to the public. Document and record program outcomes in the agency’s databases; conduct housing assessments to determine eligibility for housing placement. Provide reports for other community stakeholders such as probation officers and social workers as requested; prepare materials and activities for group sessions at the agency and in the community. Maintain the court calendar for dissemination to criminal justice and judicial partners; complete documentation of drug court calendar for billing; maintain documentation of community groups client rosters; extract data from online court databases to stay informed about new and continuing cases. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in human services, social work, or a related field, with four years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and work experience. Experience with trauma-informed approaches when working with trafficking victims and survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault (e.g., case management, advocacy, group dynamics, victim rights/services). Direct practice experience with women and teens who have experienced trafficking, commercial sexual exploitation, or prostitution; preferably two years of engaging and mentoring youth. Survivor experience is valued and welcome to apply. Working knowledge of legislation such as VAWA, TVPA, and similar laws; understanding of how criminal justice and court systems operate. Skilled at facilitating groups with women of diverse ages and ability levels; able to accommodate different learning styles. Ability to work evening and weekend hours as needed; proficient in English for client case notes and written documentation. Experience in conducting training sessions for professionals and understanding issues important to urban, low-income communities, communities of color, LGBTQIA+ communities, and other vulnerable populations. Knowledge of co-occurring mental health and substance use concerns when working with at-risk populations; effective leadership skills to motivate others and collaborate with staff. Ability to manage multiple databases while maintaining client confidentiality; valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and ability to meet driving record requirements. Note: If the license was not issued in Minnesota, you have 60 days after becoming a Minnesota resident to apply for a Minnesota driver’s license or permit (not applicable for new hires living out of state).
