The float pool position services the following Sharp Rees-Stealy locations: San Diego Main (Kearny Mesa) La Mesa Santee Otay Ranch What You Will Do
Assists patients (and parents/guardians), staff and physicians as needed to maintain a high level of efficiency of operations and customer service while providing quality care to the designated pediatric patient population. Qualifications
Required Qualifications Other: Successful completion of LVN/LPN program. California Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) - CA Board of Vocational Nursing & Psychiatric Technicians - REQUIRED AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professional (AHA BLS Healthcare) - American Heart Association - REQUIRED Preferred Qualifications 1 Year LVN experience in related clinical area. Experience as pediatric LVN highly preferred. Ambulatory care experience. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) - American Heart Association - PREFERRED Essential Functions
Customer Service: Provides patient care and ensures privacy and respectful communication; adheres to confidentiality and telephone etiquette. Department Efficiency and Effectiveness: Monitors patient flow, coordinates with physicians, manages supplies, and supports site inspections and inventories; enters authorizations per SRS and Rady processes. Human Resource Management: Participates in training, serves as a preceptor, supports teamwork and respectful communication, and participates in departmental activities. Nursing Competencies: Completes nursing competency requirements as specified. Quality Initiatives: Performs quality assurance activities and required trainings. Technical Skills: Applies infection control, pediatric nursing procedures, vaccinations, and pediatric assessments; assists provider with procedures and prepares patients for procedures; uses CAIR and related systems for immunization history and referrals. Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
Licensed Practical Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse with clinical skill and judgment. Ability to prepare patients for examinations, tests, or treatments and explain procedures. Equal Opportunity
