LVN - Pediatric Float Pool – SRS Multiple Clinics (Day Shift, Full-time)

Eligible for $7.5K New Hire Sign On Incentive.

Shift Information

Hours may vary based on department needs. Weekend requirements: as needed. Shift start time: 8 AM. Shift end time: 5 PM. AWS Hours requirement: 8/40 – 8 Hour Shift. On‑call required: No. Hourly Pay Range: $30.37 – $42.51 (minimum – maximum).

Responsibilities

Assist patients, parents/guardians, staff, and physicians to maintain high operational efficiency and customer service while providing quality care to the designated pediatric patient population. Perform patient care activities, including monitoring, direct nursing, instrument handling, and procedure assistance (e.g., circumcisions, ear piercings, catheterizations). Deliver patient and guardian education on child development, asthma, autism, breastfeeding, medication equipment, and preventive health. Manage patient flow, physician schedule, and daily tasks to meet service standards; prioritize responsibilities and maintain appropriate supply levels. Participate in quality assurance assignments, training, and clinical projects; maintain compliance with policies and procedures. Serve as preceptor and provide staff training; act as a team player and provide feedback to improve patient care and satisfaction.

Required Qualifications

Successful completion of an LVN/LPN program. California Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) – CA Board of Vocational Nursing & Psychiatric Technicians – required. AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professional (AHA BLS) – required.

Preferred Qualifications

One year LVN experience in a related clinical area. Experience as a pediatric LVN highly preferred. Ambulatory care experience. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) – preferred.

Essential Functions

Deliver warm, friendly, and professional care; maintain patient privacy and confidentiality. Use critical thinking and clinical judgment in phonrest; manage communication and documentation; support physicians and other team members. Prepares patients for examinations and procedures; administers injections; follows adult & child vaccination schedules; monitors for complications. Adhere to infection control protocols, universal precautions, and appropriate restraints when required. Report potential child abuse, non‑custodial/pursuant to California law regarding minors, and maintain correct documentation. Enter referrals, authorizations, and other documentation accurately in SRS portal and related applications.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Proficiency as a Licensed Practical Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse; solid clinical skill set. Ability to prepare patients for examinations, tests, or treatments and explain procedures. Strong communication, interpersonal and conflict resolution skills; effective teamwork.

Sign‑On Bonus

Eligible for a $7,500 sign‑on bonus.

Eligibility Requirements

Must meet all job requirements listed above. Current Sharp employees, rehires/reinstates returning within 12 months, and individuals receiving hiring incentives are not eligible for the bonus. To remain eligible: must remain in the original hired FTE status and shift, department, specialty, and job title; transfers to a non‑bonus eligible department or position may result in forfeiture.
