Yes Summary: The Inpatient Clinical Pharmacist provides comprehensive pharmaceutical care for hospitalized patients across multiple service lines, ensuring safe and effective medication use. The pharmacist collaborates with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize pharmacotherapy, perform clinical dosing, and participate in code response and sterile compounding activities. Responsibilities Verify, prepare, and dispense medications in accordance with hospital and regulatory standards. Provide clinical dosing and therapeutic monitoring (including renal, cardiac, anticoagulant, and pediatric dosing). Manage and monitor pharmacotherapy for acute and chronic conditions such as cardiovascular, infectious disease, neurologic, renal, and pulmonary disorders. Compound IV medications and parenteral nutrition solutions using sterile technique. Participate in patient care rounds, interdisciplinary collaboration, and code response (BLS required; ACLS preferred). Utilize Cerner for medication order entry, verification, and documentation. Maintain compliance with pharmacy safety protocols, including media fill and glove-finger-thumb testing. Support continuous quality improvement and adherence to formulary management practices. Educate nursing and medical staff regarding medication management and high-alert drugs. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree Active state pharmacist license (or eligibility for licensure) Minimum 2 years of inpatient or hospital pharmacy experience Basic Life Support (BLS) certification IV compounding proficiency and demonstrated sterile technique competency Familiarity with Cerner electronic health record Preferred Qualifications Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification Experience in community or teaching hospital settings Exposure to Pharmacy Keeper, BD Med Keeper, or Omnicell/Pyxis Carousel systems Background in pharmacokinetic monitoring and high-acuity care units Neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients across medical-surgical, cardiac, orthopedic, obstetric, renal, and critical care units.
