Principal Innovation Hub Solution Engineer, AI Business Solutions , working onsite in the Microsoft Innovation Hub in New York City, NY, you will merge business and technical requirements to craft comprehensive solutions, working seamlessly with various stakeholders. You will conduct discovery sessions to understand customer needs and provide strategic recommendations and best practices tailored to their specific needs. Implementing robust AI transformation solutions and optimizing the integration of various technologies and services will be key aspects of your role. Additionally, you will leverage consultancy skills to foster collaboration among technical resources and stakeholders, ensuring alignment and effective teamwork.

Responsibilities

Delivering customer engagements: Prepare and deliver technical engagements including strategy sessions, envisioning workshops, architecture design sessions and rapid prototyping to demonstrate key capabilities, validate against identified risks and finalize technology choices.

AI Transformation Leadership: Be the trusted voice within the business and for customers on the latest AI platform and technology trends, guiding their transformation journeys. Prioritize AI use cases through design thinking workshops and lead these journeys effectively. Contribute to Microsoft’s strategy in your area, ensuring the Hub is proactively aligned with the right customers to drive real impact.

Strategic Vision and Planning: Own and execute a clear strategic vision for AI transformation initiatives on a set of targeted accounts, aligning with organizational goals and customer needs by collaborating and orchestrating cross-functional teams.

Solution Design and Architecture: Develop comprehensive solution architectures based on patterns and practices that are tied to customer requirements and ensure that solutions are scalable, secure and optimized for performance. Use consultation skills to uncover and prioritize opportunities, ensuring solutions address real customer needs.

Cross Platform Collaboration: Adopt a holistic approach to integrate capabilities across the entire cloud platform, identifying synergies and optimizing cross-platform integration. Work with peers and stakeholders to make the Innovation Hub the home of Cross Solution AI Transformation.

Technical Depth: Maintain and grow expertise in creating business value on top of the business applications including sales, services and marketing and Microsoft 365 platform to support AI transformation initiatives. Stay updated with market trends and collaborate with technical communities.

Technical Sales and Sales Leadership: Act as a strategic change agent within the business to shape Microsoft's programs and engineering offerings. Lead the creation of scalable, field-relevant assets through internal communities. Champion Hub engagement success by connecting technical capabilities to sales opportunities and serving as a trusted voice with sales leaders and account teams.

Qualifications Required Qualifications

7+ years technical pre-sales or technical consulting experience

OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND 6+ years technical pre-sales or technical consulting experience

OR Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND 4+ years technical pre-sales or technical consulting experience

OR equivalent experience

5+ years of experience as a Solutions Architect (or a comparable role), with proven hands-on expertise in collaboration and business solutions technologies—particularly Microsoft 365 and Power Platform

Business Applications - Technology Domain expertise including Copilot Studio & Power Platform; experience with solution design, development, governance, compliance, security, integration, automation and Center of Excellence leadership

Modern Work - Experience with M365, M365 Copilot and M365 Copilot Agents including solution design & architecture, deployment, governance, compliance, security, integration, automation, and user enablement

Development - Demonstrated ability to build AI Solutions with Copilot Studio, M365 and Power Platform, integrating low code with pro code using Python, C#, HTML5, SQL, JavaScript, etc.

Architecture - Understanding of the broader Microsoft Cloud technology stack and how it complements modern workplace components

Preferred Or Additional Qualifications

M365 and Power Platform Expert with deep, hands-on experience across Microsoft 365 and Power Platform, including solution design, development, governance, compliance, security, integration, automation, user enablement, and Center of Excellence leadership—driving operational excellence, responsible adoption, and digital transformation through scalable, secure, and sustainable solutions.

AI Solution Design Experience: Expertise in designing architectures and hands-on experience building and deploying AI solutions and solutions that integrate with Microsoft Copilot. Experience with Copilot Studio, Large Language Models, prompt engineering, agentic architectures, responsible AI practices and familiarity with emerging industry standards such as MCP and A2A. Understanding of AI related Azure services.

Certification in relevant technologies or disciplines

Azure Certifications:

AI-102 Azure AI Engineer Associate or

PL-600 Power Platform Solution Architect Expert

Enterprise Architect Experience: Proven experience as an Enterprise Architect, designing and implementing large-scale, complex solutions that align with business goals and technical requirements. Ability to integrate various technologies and platforms to create cohesive and scalable architectures. Experience with cloud and hybrid infrastructures, adjacent technologies, architecture designs, migrations, and industry standards.

Strategic & Structured Facilitator: Experience in requirements capture, prioritization, evidence collection, impact quantification, issue/risk identification with a focus on strategic goals. Use of consultative selling skills to deliver tailored solutions.

Solution Engineering IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $130,900 - $251,900 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $165,600 - $272,300 per year.
