Responsible for management of the work-brokering process for the induction of repair, overhaul, corrective, and preventative maintenance for Naval vessels on the San Diego waterfront. Maintain accurate production work status for assigned customers, providing recommendations regarding assignment of work requests, based on the capability and capacity of supporting shops. Duties and Responsibilities

Provide direct support for the coordination of assigned maintenance and repair work for Naval vessels. Access, utilize, and update computer database applications to track assigned Naval vessels maintenance and repair availabilities. Act as liaison between ship’s Commanding Officer (CO) and shore maintenance personnel to ensure work schedules are maintained and coordinated. Manage the work brokering process for repair, overhaul, corrective maintenance and repair for assigned Naval vessels on the San Diego waterfront. Maintain accurate production work status and provide recommendations regarding assignment of work requests based on capability and capacity of supporting activities. Provide preliminary and advanced scheduling and planning recommendations to ensure smooth work execution during assigned Naval vessel maintenance availabilities. Assist in determining alternate performance periods and deadline dates as required. Brief Production Department management, Maintenance Team members and ship’s force leadership on availability progress, work statuses, critical path jobs, scheduling conflicts and issues impacting on-time completion. Travel to deployed Naval vessels to conduct ship-checks, work requirement validations, and advanced planning, including OCONUS locations. Draft reports, memorandums, and correspondence to ships and other support activities in support of assigned Naval vessel maintenance and repair availabilities. Attend meetings to provide updated status reports and coordinate progress of ongoing work on assigned Naval vessels. Ensure repair and testing of assigned Naval vessels systems and equipment worked on by production shops is conducted in accordance with applicable technical documentation. Track and report progress on work certification prior to key events and milestone dates. Demonstrate professionalism in all communications with internal and external customers. Convey information clearly to others and ensure accurate communication of important details. Assist in assessing the assigned Naval vessels material condition via joint ship-checks with ships’ force, inspectors, and support activities representatives as required. Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent Minimum 5 years’ shipboard environment experience Prior Ship’s maintenance Superintendent qualification under SWRMC, SERMC or MARMC Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance Ability to communicate clearly and effectively to a range of audiences and seniority levels Ability to complete the Ship Superintendent Representative Job Qualification Requirement within four months of reporting to work Knowledge of maintenance procedures, practices, and techniques common to the operation of repair activities, Naval Sea Systems Command, and TYCOMs Knowledge of Naval vessel repair and overhaul techniques to coordinate maintenance progress Knowledge of JFMM to ensure sound and timely progression of availabilities Knowledge of the naval ship's configuration and major systems for understanding work during an availability Knowledge of technical writing and message drafting Computer skills with word processing and spreadsheet programs; proficient in Microsoft Office applications Familiar with support activities capabilities Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this role is $26.26 to $32.53 hourly. Salaries are determined by factors including skills, education, experience, local market conditions, and internal equity. ADA Notations

Routinely climb, ascend or descend ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps to access ships and vessels. Requires walking, reaching, sitting with occasional noise. Ability to move in narrow and restricted passageways and climb ladders or stairways on ships. Ability to move about on foot for tasks, including long distances between work sites.
