A Houston based provider of mobile turnkey power generation and distribution solutions is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to design, analyze, and document
electrical systems for microgrids , mobile power generation, power distribution, and renewable energy equipment. The role may include occasional on-site commissioning and troubleshooting. Key Responsibilities
Lead design and review of medium- and low-voltage power generation, distribution, and microgrid systems. Perform and document electrical studies such as Short Circuit, Arc Flash & Coordination, Load Flow, Harmonics, Grounding, Fault, and Transient analyses using ETAP or equivalent software. Produce technical deliverables: single-line diagrams, schematic drawings, electrical BOMs, area classifications, and formal study reports. Develop and maintain technical documentation and as-built records for electrical systems. Define protection and coordination schemes, develop relay logic, and program digital multifunction relays. Provide engineering support to operations, field teams, and cross-functional departments during design, installation, and commissioning phases. Troubleshoot field issues and support on-site commissioning as required. Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering. (Master’s preferred.) 5-10+ years’ experience in medium-voltage power generation and distribution design. Minimum 5 years performing electrical system studies with ETAP or similar tools. Strong knowledge of electrical codes and standards (IEEE, NEC, NFPA, API, etc.). Hands-on experience with power generation controls, automation systems, and programming multifunction relays. Proven ability to develop protection, coordination, and relay logic schemes. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills. Comfortable learning and adapting to new technologies and evolving industry practices. This position is 5 days a week onsite.
