Financial Reporting Manager - Stock Plan Services

Charles Schwab Schwab Stock Plan Services (SPS) provides solutions to large, publicly traded companies for the administration of equity compensation plans, including stock options, restricted stock, and employee stock purchase programs. SPS offers solutions for the administration of these plans up to and including full outsourcing capabilities for recordkeeping and employee services. Our mission is to provide a world class experience for our clients and to help the employees of our corporate clients achieve their financial fitness goals. The Financial Reporting Manager will have a deep understanding of share-based payment concepts. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without employer sponsorship.
What You’ll Do
The Financial Reporting Manager will provide support services to corporate clients on the application of equity compensation accounting concepts in the Schwab EquiView system. You will be a subject matter expert in both ASC 718 and IFRS 2 and deliver training on advanced accounting topics both internally and externally. You will identify system enhancements and development opportunities based on client needs and regulatory changes. You will also create and maintain whitepapers and other accounting documentation.
Responsibilities
Provide proactive financial reporting support to corporate clients and make recommendations to address reporting challenges Lead Sales Demos covering the financial reporting features of Equiview Lead discovery and consultation conversations with corporate clients to determine their needs Play a leading role in the financial reporting conversion efforts for new clients coming on board Be the subject matter expert in domestic and international share-based payment concepts Understand overall stock plan record-keeping system architecture and functionality Understand the Schwab EquiView financial reporting system from settings configuration to expense and disclosure reporting calculations Monitor regulatory changes, drive thought leadership efforts and provide sales support Identify development opportunities, gather business requirements, and work with Product Management to implement new financial reporting features
Required Qualifications
5-8 years’ work experience in the equity compensation industry with minimum 5 years’ experience working with ASC 718/IFRS2 Ability to balance the needs of clients and implement SPS best practices Strong communication skills with the ability to build positive working relationships with clients and internal partners Self-directed and self-motivated—able to work independently on a variety of tasks while achieving team-oriented objectives Organized and able to effectively manage own time Ability to handle stressful situations and prioritize competing deadlines High attention to detail and the ability to see things through from concept to implementation Strong business analysis and problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot issues Ability to work in a collaborative team environment and provide the best possible outcomes for clients Ability to improve existing processes and create innovative solutions Strong written and verbal communication skills to explain data and analysis to all levels of leadership Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or related field
