Participate in an Accelerated EMR class (Monday Friday) for 10 days, 8:00 AM 5:00 PM. Be considered a full-time Acadian Ambulance Service employee during the training period. Complete the class and obtain EMR certification; commit to work as an EMR for Acadian for 1 year after successful completion and certification. Maintain satisfactory results on pre-employment checks (drug screen, background & motor vehicle check, and physical lift test) as a condition of employment. Obtain a Louisiana class D chauffeurs license to work as an EMR. Upgrade from Trainee to Emergency Medical Responder after successful course completion; earn a pay increase to $13.50/hr with overtime opportunities. Location: TBD. Course is free of charge in return for a 1-year commitment to work as an EMR for Acadian Ambulance after completion; if the class is not completed, charges may apply. As a Trainee, you will be a full-time employee with benefits and paid $11/hr during class. If you are unsuccessful in passing the class, employment ends immediately. Upon successful completion, transition to EMR with pay increase to $13.50/hr and potential overtime opportunities.
