Overview
Per Diem Respiratory Therapist LOM-Variable UCI Health is the clinical enterprise of the University of California, Irvine. This role provides Respiratory Services to inpatients and outpatients as ordered by the physician, in accordance with the scope of the Respiratory Care Practice Act and hospital policies. Responsibilities
Provide basic and emergency respiratory care, ventilator management, pulmonary testing, and select cardiology procedures as directed by physician orders. Deliver respiratory therapy services to patients across age groups: Birth to 12 years; Adolescents (13-18); Adults (18-64); Older Adults (65+). Under supervision of the Technician Coordinator and the Director of the Cardiopulmonary Department, perform tasks as assigned by physicians. Qualifications
Required Qualifications: Current California RCP license; Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP. Must demonstrate customer service skills, clear written and verbal English communication, and the ability to maintain an appropriate work pace. Preferred Qualifications: Minimum 1 year acute care experience; Registered or Registry Eligible with the National Board for Respiratory Care. Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and walk for long periods; dexterity, coordination, and visual/auditory acuity to perform duties. Ability to turn, lift, and position patients; assist with patient handling up to several hundred pounds with assistance. Ability to reach, stretch, and assist patients; lift and carry boxes up to 30 pounds; may push up to 400 pounds. Total Compensation and Benefits
