The Opportunity We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Electrical Test Technician to support our engineering design, manufacturing test, and product diagnostics teams. This role suits someone with hands-on experience in electrical validation and troubleshooting, and a passion for precision and quality.
Responsibilities
Perform electrical validation, functional testing, and troubleshooting of electronic assemblies and sub-systems.
Execute test plans and record results accurately, ensuring compliance with engineering and quality standards.
Operate test and measurement instruments such as oscilloscopes, digital multimeters (DMMs), power supplies, and data acquisition systems.
Support engineering design teams by assembling, testing, and debugging prototype circuits and PCBs.
Conduct board-level rework, including soldering, desoldering, and replacing SMT and through-hole components.
Build and test custom cables and harnesses per engineering drawings or wiring schematics.
Perform diagnostics and repair of returned (RMA) products, identifying root causes of electrical or mechanical failures.
What You Need
Experience in electrical testing and validation within manufacturing test groups, RMA diagnostics/repair teams, or engineering design teams.
Equipment operation: ability to operate oscilloscopes, DMMs, and other test equipment independently.
PCB work: skilled in soldering, desoldering, and reworking SMT PCBs of current technology sizes.
Electrical knowledge: general low-voltage electrical knowledge (0–24V).
Electro-mechanical assembly: understanding of assembly/disassembly procedures with ESD mitigation awareness.
Cable fabrication: ability to make electrical cables from sketches or drawings.
Attention to detail: highly detail-focused with disciplined execution.
Bonus skills (preferred): knowledge of board-level communication standards (SPI, I2C) and ability to source alternate OEM components.
Semiconductor equipment manufacturing background.
Compensation and Location Role Location: California
Compensation Range: $72,000 - $108,000
Benefits Full-time employees accrue a minimum of 10 days of paid vacation per year, 6 days of paid sick leave per year (pro-rated for new hires), 10 paid holidays, and eligibility for paid bereavement leave and jury duty.
