Summary

The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for developing, implementing, and optimizing manufacturing processes to produce high-quality aerospace components and assemblies. This role ensures production processes are efficient, cost-effective, and meet all regulatory and quality standards. The engineer collaborates with cross-functional teams, including design, quality, and production, to improve existing processes and troubleshoot issues, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives. Essential Functions

Performs producibility assessments for a product design and collaborates with design engineers to ensure manufacturability and provide producibility input for design engineering, manufacturing process development, and manufacturing technologies to meet cost, schedule, and quality objectives. Design, develop, and implement manufacturing processes, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. Analyze production methods and workflows to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and optimize resource utilization. Develops integrated work instructions and sequencing of events to support delivery commitments. Implement and maintain production control systems, including lean manufacturing techniques, Six Sigma, and other process improvement methodologies. Develops tooling requirements based on manufacturing and engineering requirements. Provides configuration accountability for the implementation of committed changes. Reviews and approves supplier data to ensure manufacturing related requirements are met. Confers with internal and external customers concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods. Confers with vendors to determine part specifications and recommends the purchase of equipment and materials used in manufacturing and production. Performs root cause analysis and implements corrective actions to address quality issues and non-conformities. Knowledge

Advanced manufacturing technologies, automation, robotics, and digital manufacturing. Strong understanding of production planning, cost analysis, and process optimization. Interpreting and comprehending engineering drawings and specifications. Familiarity with automation, robotics, and CNC programming. Collect, organize and analyze data, summarize findings; develop conclusions and recommendations from appropriate data sources. Familiarity with regulatory standards, including AS9100, ISO9001, and FAA/EASA requirements. Documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. CAD/CAM software; Microsoft Office tools. Competencies
