Summary The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for developing, implementing, and optimizing manufacturing processes to produce high‑quality aerospace components and assemblies. This role ensures that production processes are efficient, cost‑effective, and meet all regulatory and quality standards. The engineer collaborates with cross‑functional teams—including design, quality, and production—to improve existing processes and troubleshoot issues, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
Essential Functions
Perform producibility assessments for product designs and collaborate with design engineers to ensure manufacturability, providing producibility input for design engineering, manufacturing process development, and manufacturing technologies to meet cost, schedule, and quality objectives.
Design, develop, and implement manufacturing processes, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Analyze production methods and workflows to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and optimize resource utilization.
Develop integrated work instructions and sequencing of events to support delivery commitments.
Implement and maintain production control systems, including lean manufacturing techniques, Six Sigma, and other process improvement methodologies.
Develop tooling requirements based on manufacturing and engineering requirements.
Provide configuration accountability for the implementation of committed changes.
Review and approve supplier data to ensure manufacturing‑related requirements are met.
Confere with internal and external customers concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods.
Consult with vendors to determine part specifications and recommend the purchase of equipment and materials used in manufacturing and production.
Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to address quality issues and non‑conformities.
