Student Program Coordinator, Cockrell School of Engineering. Location: UT MAIN CAMPUS. Weekly Scheduled Hours: 40. FLSA Status: Exempt. Earliest Start Date: Immediately. Assists with the development, coordination, and implementation for assigned student services programs. Examples include degree certification assistance, certification process, catalog updates regarding the Interactive Degree Audit (IDA) system, and Graduate Course Reservation Forms (approximately 20%). Partners with degree auditors to assist with development and coordination of programs, activities, and events (approximately 10%). Assist with programmatic communications, evaluations, and assessments; collect, analyze, and produce reports related to program activity (approximately 10%). Assist with development and publishing of informational materials and websites to ensure students are aware of programs and services (approximately 10%). Participate in university-wide and school-wide activities such as Family Weekend, Honors Day, Order of the Engineer, and Prospective Student Information Sessions (approximately 10%). Conduct routine developmental academic advising for all engineering undergraduates, including managing adds/drops/withdrawals; appeal reviews; academic and scholastic warning advising; crisis intervention advising; career counseling; resource referrals; major changes and course selection advising for incoming new first-year students; assist with coordination of graduation and commencement activities (approximately 10%). Represent the advising office in meetings with students, university personnel, and professional groups; engage in campus-wide committees and events related to student retention and orientation (approximately 10%). Participate in student division meetings and functions, such as commencement, orientation, advising, and first-year interest groups (FIGs) (approximately 10%). Perform other related duties as assigned. Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree and three (3) years’ experience working with college students in a counseling or advising capacity. Experience managing student programs and demonstrated professional demeanor. High energy, team player with strong written, verbal, and presentation skills. Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to communicate with students, families, faculty, and staff. Ability to work independently and in teams with overlapping projects. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and related applications. Familiarity with video and web conferencing software such as Zoom and Microsoft Teams. Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate. Preferred Qualifications
Master’s Degree and four years of experience in higher education, college student personnel, liberal arts, or communications. Experience working with high school or college-aged students; experience supervising students and/or volunteers. Knowledge of undergraduate student processes at UT Austin, familiarity with IDA, Advisors Toolkit, EASI, and EAB Navigate360. Ability to work in a multi-faceted environment with tightly scheduled programs and deadlines; strong communication and organizational skills. Appreciation for and knowledge of engineering/STEM education and UT Austin/Cockrell School of Engineering. Salary & Benefits
Salary Range: $50,000+ depending on qualifications. Working Conditions
Standard office environment with occasional travel. General office conditions with time spent in contact with students, staff, faculty, and administrators; in-person work in Austin, Texas. Standard business hours Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. Required Materials
