The Information Technology organization is the technological foundation of our business. It collaborates with partners across the company to drive technology and digital transformation, design and execute strategies through IT and operations services, and ensure IT risk management and security measures are in place and aligned with enterprise architecture standards and principles. About The Role

The Database Operations Engineer role is responsible for the administration of enterprise database systems and ensuring that application databases perform optimally according to service level objectives, verifying the integrity and availability of all system resources. This role includes database configuration, migration, upgrade, monitoring, query tuning, security compliance, troubleshooting, backup and recovery. The candidate should maintain current and future business objectives and bring design and maintenance of state-of-the-art database environments, especially in the following technologies: Oracle Exadata, MSSQL Server, AWS Database Services, Snowflake and Cassandra. Responsibilities

Thought Leader and change agent who understands the big-picture business strategy and builds database systems and platforms that support strategic goals and roadmaps. Maintain database infrastructure; collaborate with the Enterprise Shared Services team and Enterprise Architecture to shape a technology lifecycle strategy for all database platforms. Build and maintain a secure environment with controlled privileged access, review and attest to entitlements, and ensure security and compliance with IT Risk and Compliance; respond to audits. Provide technical support for mission-critical databases running on Oracle, SQL Server, and other enterprise DBMS. Develop, configure, and install database management systems; plan and implement new instances and schema creation. Apply security best practices, schedule/configure/install upgrades and patches. Determine backup strategies, schedule backups, diagnose and resolve backup failures, and perform test restores for recoverability. Review and advise on system design for High Availability and DR/BCP capability. Diagnose and resolve database problems; proactively tune performance to meet SLAs. Provide technical assistance to developers for database-related code and connectivity; review designs to ensure adherence to standards. Provide periodic training to IT teams on DB best practices. Ensure compliance with Change and Security management policies, audits, and SOX; ITIL incident, problem and request management. DevOps aware and capable of packaging, validating and promoting DB changes via the DevOps pipeline; proficient in DevOps tools and process orchestration. Skills And Qualifications

5+ years of professional IT experience supporting large enterprise databases. Bachelor’s or higher degree Experience supporting 24x7 operations Exceptional project management and delivery skills Clear understanding of ITIL Strong hands-on experience with Windows, UNIX/Linux, networking and major database technologies (e.g. Oracle, MS SQL, PostgreSQL, AWS RDS, Cassandra) Strong hands-on database security and risk mitigation techniques, and performance tuning Experience with industrial standard security tools like QUALYS, IMPERVA, Prisma, and CyberArk Understanding of DevOps concepts Commitment to operational excellence and continuous process improvement Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to align objectives and gain buy-in Client-focused with an outward-facing service orientation Strong understanding of security and risk related to patching, configuration, logging, alerting, and monitoring Ability to work under pressure, balance multiple tasks, and maintain resilience Compensation

The anticipated salary range for this position is $75,000 to $95,000 for Jersey City, NJ region at the start of employment. Actual compensation depends on location, skills, experience and other qualifications. Eligible for a discretionary bonus per incentive plan.
