Overview Quality Specialist Supervisor role at Ferrero located in Franklin Park (Chicago), IL. The Quality Supervisor is a key functional and management role within the Ferrero Quality Organization, responsible for quality and food safety for a full section of the plant producing a line of products. This position reports to the Head of Quality and will manage a team of 3 while collaborating with Production, R&D/Technology, Engineering and Maintenance.

Responsibilities

Lead the implementation of Ferrero Food Safety and Quality Standards in the plant and replace previous standards as required, ensuring operations comply with quality and food safety standards.

Lead root cause analysis related to non-conformances and participate in continuous improvement initiatives, implementing related actions.

Responsible for quality training and development to achieve quality objectives.

Participate with the Food Safety & Quality Systems supervisor and the plant head of quality in developing and implementing new standards when required.

Maintain Product & Process Quality Standards and oversee the application of product and process quality specifications using the corporate information system and SAP.

Manage and guide activities performed by operators on the production line; manage documentation, instructions and records.

Analyze trends and performance indicators and communicate KPIs at multiple levels.

Support the production department on all quality matters related to the production process.

Verify the application of Quality system procedures (ISO 9001) and Food Safety systems procedures (GFSI / FSSC 22000); periodically verify effectiveness of food safety plans and ensure results are recorded in company reports.

Verify the application of GMP rules.

Manage Non-Conformance for the area (on-hold products, non-conformities, root cause analysis for NC and consumer complaints).

Ensure Final Product Release in collaboration with the team.

Train employees: plan and provide training to production and support functions; support operators to verify auto-control activities are executed correctly; provide GMP training.

Team management: organize work schedules, ensure team members are trained on procedures, and conduct yearly performance evaluations of direct reports.

Qualifications

B.Sc Degree in Food Science or Food Technology (or related field).

Minimum 4 years in a Quality Supervisor role in a food plant; familiarity with Food safety systems and quality systems.

Knowledge and experience in Root Cause Analysis and Problem-Solving Techniques.

Specific Knowledge

Knowledge of raw materials, quality assurance and quality control.

Experience with GFSI standards (FSSC 22000, SQF, BRC); ISO 9001 is a plus.

Internal auditing experience is an asset.

Ability to conduct presentations and training sessions.

Strong analytical and organizational skills; ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

Demonstrated ability to work effectively with others in a multi-cultural environment; strong communication skills.

Compensation and Benefits The base salary range for this position is $71,445 - $95,260 annually. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors permitted by law. This range represents the anticipated salary for this position at this time.
