Relationship Manager II - Business Banking

Responsibilities and qualifications reflect the requirements for a Relationship Manager II in Business Banking. Responsibilities

Manage the strategic client relationships in Business Banking, including existing portfolio management and new business acquisition. Generate, retain, and expand lending, investment, and deposit relationships with new and existing clients through referrals, centers of influence, and direct prospecting. Develop, generate, and follow up on new client leads through existing clients, referrals, COIs, and prospecting. Oversight of relationship profitability and portfolio risk with accountability for profitable growth (loans, deposits, and fee income); act as a consultant to clients and a resource to the Bank. Provide insights to enhance client relationships, cash flow, profitability, and efficiency. Manage overall credit quality of the assigned portfolio, including sales, credit analysis, loan structuring, and client interviews. Monitor and manage existing credit relationships, including note renewals, financial statement analysis, collateral valuations, covenant monitoring, and reporting for asset and credit quality. Negotiate loan proposals, analyze and evaluate credit requests, write loan commitments, determine credit grade, and present to underwriter or loan committee; implement approval or declination actions. Serve as the primary link for all financial services to Business Banking clients (e.g., Treasury Services, International, Trust, Cash Vault). Participate in community and professional activities to enhance the bank’s image and expand a personal network for business development. Monitor accounts to identify potential credit problems and ensure proper loan documentation; handle complex lending requirements (term loans, commercial real estate, revolving lines). Communicate and collaborate consistently with business banking teams and internal partners; maintain CRM usage. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience. 5 years of proven business banking sales experience. Strong strategic sales knowledge targeting small business owners. Proficient knowledge of business banking products and product innovation. Knowledge of market/industry trends. Ability to source and produce efficient credit opportunities. Knowledge of credit and operational risk with the ability to quantify exposure and advise the team. Understanding of credit underwriting. Strong knowledge of commercial lending practices and loan documentation/servicing requirements. Knowledge of financial analysis (ratio, trend analysis, and projections). Knowledge of accounting principles and practices. Demonstrated capacity to sell products/services within the financial services industry. Proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Compensation and Benefits

Compensation Range: $57,760.00 - $124,170.00. The posted compensation range represents UMB’s standard for this role; actual compensation may vary by geographic location, experience level, and other job-related factors.
