An accident, unusual pains, an injured child – Mercy Hospital’s Emergency Department is prepared to provide 24/7 critical care and is a verified Level II Trauma Center. As a New Grad RN Resident, you will work with fellow caregivers in delivering exceptional care and you will interact directly with patients and their families, offering healthcare education as needed. Responsibilities
Participate in a residency core curriculum based on individual learning needs Provide direct nursing care alongside a success coach Establish and/or revise priorities for patient care Respond to data indicating risk to patients’ health and initiate corrective action Seek supervision, consultation and assistance when unable to perform safely and independently Document in patients’ medical records Qualifications
Graduate from an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN) Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) New graduate RN or less than one year of RN work experience Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification through the AHA upon hire or within one year Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification through the AHA upon hire or within one year Completion of Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC – adult) or Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC – pediatric) upon hire or within one year Preferred qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Physical Requirements
Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual dexterity, and eye-hand coordination Requires standing and walking for extended periods Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids Medium to heavy exertion (lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally; 10 to 25 pounds frequently) Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work Personal Protective Equipment
Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required Pay Range
