As part of the HR Payroll Operations Team, the Payroll Tax Manager manages all aspects of the Global HR and payroll tax operations for EssilorLuxottica’s US and Canada entities. The role manages the payroll tax team and collaborates with cross-functional teams. This position must have excellent organizational and time management skills as well as strong analytical, problem-solving skills and strong attention to detail. This position also provides exceptional customer service and problem resolution while maintaining strict confidentiality of information at all times. Major Duties & Responsibilities
Lead the execution and accuracy of weekly, bi-weekly and monthly disbursement of multi-state and multi-country payroll tax. Frequently interacts with various departments internally (Benefits, Compensation, HRBP, Legal, Compliance, Store Operations, Accounting and IT) and with external vendors. Manages and maintains confidential records and inquiries. Leads and manages payroll tax analysts and owns performance management and development of the team. Follows and maintains knowledge of all payroll tax regulations for US and Canada. Leads the continuous review of payroll tax data information. Research and correct/adjust discoverable errors. Oversees the daily processing of all new hires tax set up processed in all systems. Oversees the weekly processing of all address and organization unit changes are processed in all systems. Addresses inquiries from internal employees, stakeholders, or regulatory agencies regarding payroll issues. Manages standard reports to run automatically for distribution, and creates Ad hoc reports as needed for legal, compliance, tax and other business partners. Process, test and report Year-end W-2s, working with IT personnel and with outside W-2 vendor to ensure timely file generation, printing and mailing of W-2s and W-2c’s. Prepare ad-hoc reports using ADP Globalview and Smart Compliance reporting as needed by management, legal team, and vendors. Participate in system testing of upgrade products and conversion, developing testing environment and analysis of test data. Provide training to the Payroll Tax Team, as needed. Continue to identify opportunities to increase efficiency and streamline. Assist in special projects, including system updates, system testing, integrations, upgrades, or implementations. Maintain professional growth and development through webinars of the latest developments in the laws and other related areas. Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or equivalent combination of education and experience required 5+ years HR Payroll Tax Experience Experience utilizing ADP’s GlobalView system, ADP reporting or other equivalent reporting tool (ex. SAP Payroll) Experience working with ADP SmartCompliance tool required. Advanced in MS Excel including PivotTables, VLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, and Data Tables Multi-state payroll processing experience Previous experience with reporting and analysis Trustworthiness with confidential information Positive attitude and a team player Experience with reporting, data analysis, and auditing. Ability to work effectively with all levels of management, staff, customers, and vendors.
