Overview

Associate Director, Applied Research and Program Evaluation plays a pivotal role in advancing the impact and integrity of Alzheimer’s Association Project ECHO programs. This position leads efforts in Project ECHO and other applied research evaluation and continuous quality improvement initiatives to ensure program fidelity, effectiveness and scalability. Project ECHO is a virtual, interactive learning experience connecting healthcare professionals across the country with dementia experts, consisting of concise, evidence-based lectures and collaborative case discussions that empower local providers to deliver high quality care in their communities. Alzheimer’s Association Project ECHO comprises the Alzheimer’s and Dementia Care ECHO Program, the Alzheimer’s Association ECHO Superhub, and the Alzheimer’s and Dementia Care ECHO Global Collaborative. This position is donor funded. It is funded for at least three years from the hire date; continued funding support is anticipated beyond that period.

Responsibilities Design and implement tailored evaluation plans for each component of the Alzheimer’s Association Project ECHO, ensuring alignment with overall program goals.

Create a data collection system and data management plan.

Gather, analyze, and interpret quantitative and qualitative data from ECHO sessions, participant feedback, and global partners to assess program effectiveness and inform strategic decisions.

Create visual and narrative reports/dashboards to communicate Project ECHO’s impact to internal teams, funders, Superhub partners, and global collaborators.

Support applied research activities, including designing and conducting studies related to dementia care, quality improvement, health services research and implementation, and global partner opportunities in coordination with cross-functional teams.

Provide technical assistance, training, and evaluation support to organizations launching or scaling ECHO programs through the Alzheimer’s Association ECHO Superhub.

Facilitate global collaborative engagement, including data collection, evaluation, and knowledge exchange among international partners participating in the Global Collaborative.

Disseminate findings through publications, conference presentations, webinars, and internal learning sessions to advance dementia care globally.

Qualifications Education : Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in a related field (e.g., health policy, health administration, health services research, public health, epidemiology). Master’s Degree in a health-related or social science discipline preferred.

Experience : 5+ years of professional work experience in a related job discipline.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities : Experience in planning, designing and implementing program evaluation (data collection, analysis, interpretation, reporting); proficiency in designing studies using quantitative and qualitative methods; experience establishing data quality processes and managing data systems for analytics and reporting; advanced experience with statistical or qualitative software (e.g., SPSS, SAS, MAXQDA) and the ability to conduct analyses and interpret results; proficiency with Microsoft Office, data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI), online academic search engines, and virtual meeting platforms; ability to learn and apply new technologies; strong written and oral communication skills for reports, publications, presentations and proposals.
