Coeur Alaska is seeking a dynamic and forward-thinking Underground Mobile Maintenance Supervisor to join our underground team at the Kensington Mine. This leadership role is critical to driving a preventive and predictive maintenance culture, ensuring equipment reliability and operational excellence in a challenging underground environment. Reporting to the Mobile Maintenance Superintendents, the Supervisor will lead a crew of approximately 10 skilled hourly employees. The successful candidate will be a strong leader with a passion for mentoring, continuous improvement, and safety. This role requires someone who thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting and is committed to elevating maintenance standards through innovation and accountability. The position follows a 14-days-on / 14-days-off schedule at our remote site.
Responsibilities
Stop work for safety concerns and abide by safety best practices, policies, and procedures.
Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of underground mobile maintenance technicians to achieve high standards in safety, reliability, and performance.
Champion a preventive and predictive maintenance culture, ensuring that equipment is maintained proactively to reduce downtime and extend asset life.
Collaborate closely with operations and planning teams to align maintenance activities with production goals and long-term reliability strategies.
Monitor and evaluate crew performance, providing coaching, feedback, and development opportunities to build a high-performing team.
Drive continuous improvement by identifying inefficiencies, implementing solutions, and promoting a mindset of accountability and innovation.
Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and company policies, fostering a culture of responsibility and care.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, safety meetings, scheduling, and personnel management.
Utilize maintenance management systems (e.g., Oracle CMMS) to plan, track, and optimize work execution.
Set clear expectations, uphold standards, and lead by example in all aspects of underground mobile maintenance operations.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Proven ability to lead by example, promote a culture of safety, and inspire others to adopt best practices in preventive and predictive maintenance.
Demonstrated success in building high-performing teams, fostering accountability, and driving continuous improvement.
Strong mechanical aptitude with at least five years of mobile maintenance experience, preferably in an underground mining environment.
Minimum of one year in a lead-hand or supervisory role, with a solid understanding of underground mobile equipment and maintenance strategies.
Excellent communication skills—able to clearly convey expectations, provide feedback, and collaborate across departments.
Proficient in using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS), preferably Oracle, and Microsoft Office tools.
Ability to analyze maintenance data, identify trends, and implement solutions that improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage resources, and adapt to changing operational needs.
Commitment to safety, environmental stewardship, and regulatory compliance.
Preference given to Alaska residents.
