Our Hunt Valley, MD office is seeking a
Senior Transportation Structural Project Engineer
to lead the design and management of transportation structure projects. This senior-level role is ideal for an experienced structural engineer who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and is passionate about designing bridges and transportation structures that shape our communities.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the design of new and rehabilitation bridge projects from concept through completion
Manage project scopes, schedules, and budgets to ensure high-quality, on-time delivery
Prepare contract documents, technical specifications, and construction phase services
Coordinate with subconsultants, clients, and agency representatives
Supervise and mentor design engineers and drafting personnel
Build and maintain long-term relationships with clients and project partners
Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or related field
12-20 years of relevant experience in structural design
Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of Maryland
Experience with AASHTO LRFD bridge design
Proven experience working with the Maryland Department of Transportation
Strong knowledge of structural design principles for steel, reinforced concrete, and prestressed concrete components
Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills
Preferred Qualifications
Masters degree in Civil Engineering
At least 6 years of experience leading design engineers and drafting personnel
Work Environment This position is primarily office-based, with occasional field or client visits as needed. The work environment is professional, collaborative, and supportive, with an emphasis on quality, innovation, and teamwork.
