Lead Carpenter role at Bednark. The Lead Carpenter plays a pivotal role in Bednark’s projects by providing leadership across four key areas: Production & Fabrication, Install Support, Team Management and Systems & Safety. This role combines technical expertise, strong project oversight, and hands-on mentorship to deliver high-quality work and foster a culture of accountability, craftsmanship, and efficiency. Production & Fabrication

Interpret and execute complex technical drawings, offering insights to optimize build strategies. Manage production schedules and prioritize tasks to meet project deadlines. Demonstrate mastery in joinery, hardware installation, cabinet-making, and finishing. Ensure organized and accurate tool and material usage throughout project life cycles. Apply expert knowledge of wood, metal, and plastic-based engineered sheet goods. Operate and maintain shop machinery, tools, and equipment used in fabrication. Troubleshoot build challenges while enforcing Bednark’s high craftsmanship standards. Participate in project and engineering meetings, providing technical input on feasibility and construction methods. Install Support

Act as an onsite installer when needed, overseeing and assisting install crews to uphold project quality and timelines. Support tech scouts by reviewing notes, photos, and logistics to provide practical input for planning and execution. Assist with the procurement of all necessary installation hardware in collaboration with the Project Manager. Collaborate with the Project Manager and Build Lead to develop a comprehensive ROS (Run of Show). Communicate real-time updates from install sites to the fabrication team, ensuring alignment across departments. Implement and troubleshoot install systems and processes to improve onsite efficiency. Partner with the Staffing Team to assess crew performance and make staffing adjustments when needed. Follow up on install reports and on-site requests with the Project Manager and Department Manager to resolve issues promptly. Team Management

Lead a team of carpenters, fabricators, and apprentices, keeping projects on track and teams engaged. Delegate daily responsibilities based on team members’ strengths, experience, and project needs. Monitor and manage labor hours to maintain project efficiency and budget targets. Conduct regular quality control checks to ensure work meets Bednark’s standards. Provide ongoing mentorship and skills training to junior team members. Model professionalism, accountability, and a solution-oriented mindset on the shop floor and in the field. Maintain strong knowledge of onsite assembly and installation best practices to support both shop and field operations. Systems & Safety

Use Innergy to maintain clear, consistent communication and task tracking. Enforce fabrication and installation safety protocols, ensuring a safe and compliant work environment. Inspect tools, workspaces, and egress routes regularly to uphold safety standards. Contribute to refining fabrication and installation workflows for better organization, communication, and output. Essential Skills & Qualifications

7+ years of professional carpentry and fabrication experience, with a strong portfolio of custom builds. Expertise in reading and interpreting blueprints, CAD drawings, and fabrication plans. Advanced proficiency with woodworking machinery, power tools, and finishing techniques. Strong understanding of structural integrity, construction methods, and in-line assembly processes. Proven leadership experience in a fabrication or production environment. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing priorities. Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and work in a fast-paced production environment. Strong communication and organizational skills, with experience using project management tools. Knowledge of general safety practices and OSHA compliance is required. About Bednark Studio Inc.
