Base pay range

$37.50/hr - $56.25/hr Major Responsibilities

Positioning of patients and proper selection of technical factors and equipment to obtain scans of optimal quality, making use of any necessary immobilization techniques Delivery of patient care in accordance with department standards of continued quality improvement Documentation for department records to ensure adequate supplies and proper patient records Responsible for securing pertinent history from the patient for each procedure, to provide the radiologist with adequate information before film interpretation Compliance with established Accrediting Organization and hospital safety standards to ensure patient and staff well being at all times Instruction and assistance as required by students or fellow technologists orientating in ultrasound Education/Experience Required

ARDMS Registry eligible. ARDMS Registry to be successfully completed within first year of employment. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required

Possess high degree of technical knowledge to perform more specialized U/S studies with minimal amount of assistance from Radiologist. Able to make diagnostic judgments when scanning and present them to the Radiologist for their interpretation. ARDMS Registry eligible. ARDMS Registry is to be successfully completed within first year of employment. CPR Certification Physical Requirements And Working Conditions

Ability to adjust to flexible hours at minimal notice as required and to work odd hours (late hours on-call) with the ability to respond to emergency call back in minimal time Ability to stand for long periods of time and to perform lifting activities related to patients Exposure to radiation and to operate portable equipment Ability to communicate with patients and to participate in on-call program and department needs with minimal notice Lift requirements: up to 35 pounds without assistance for patient care; for heavier lifts, use patient handling equipment with assistance as needed This description indicates the general nature and level of work expected of the incumbent and is not designed to cover or contain every listing of activities, duties or responsibilities required of the incumbent.
