Territory Sales Manager - Greater Birmingham Region Outside Sales Territory Manager – Job Description

Würth Wood Group is seeking an Outside Sales Territory Manager to cover a territory spanning from Birmingham, AL to Tuscaloosa, AL with some accounts on the east side of Birmingham as well. Office Location: 1640 Mims Ave SW, Birmingham, AL 35211. Active clients include well over a hundred worth millions in business to be discussed in detail during the interview process. These will be your accounts without any internal competition or territorial overlap with other reps at the company. Typical customers are high-end residential custom cabinet shops.

Road vs. office time: Primarily on the road with occasional callout days in the office. This rhythm can vary. You will also occasionally cover Inside Sales Rep (ISR) duties when the rep is on vacation as needed. 90% Road Time vs. 10% Office Time is a realistic approximation. Overnight stays are occasional, but rarely necessary. Vendor (Product) Training: The company will invest in thorough product training events for this territory manager at several key vendors.

Compensation:

$45k to $55k base

plus commission and automotive reimbursement. This includes 1.25% on branch gross margin + a tax-free fixed and variable rate reimbursement for vehicle and fuel costs. Fixed covers set vehicle ownership costs such as insurance, licensure, taxes, and depreciation. Variable reflects actual driving costs based on mileage and location (fuel, oil, maintenance, tires). The automotive allowance is in lieu of a gas card or company car. Estimated high-end gross pretax range annual income for a top performer could range from

$65k to $100k+ . These numbers are ballpark estimates for a first-year new hire and can vary based on performance and market factors.

Responsibilities: Work independently to grow your market, identify top solutions for the company and customers, deliver quality service, and manage current customer accounts while expanding sales and account growth. Treat your territory as your own business and utilize strong follow-up skills to help the company become the preferred partner for customers. Note: familiarity with the Greater Birmingham, AL region is advantageous due to hundreds of established accounts in the book of business and expected growth.

Role and requirements are supported by hands-on training and professional development, including visits to headquarters, product training, shadowing experienced Outside Sales Reps, and individualized coaching with high-performing Sales Managers.
