Territory Sales Manager - Southern Louisiana & Mississippi Region
Wurth Wood Group is seeking an Outside Sales Territory Manager to cover a territory spanning Southern Louisiana into Mississippi, including major markets such as New Orleans, Northshore, Baton Rouge, Lafayette, Bayou region, Lake Charles, Jackson (MS), and Coastal MS. Office location: 19230 Hipark Blvd, Hammond, LA 70403.
Active clients are well over a hundred, worth millions in business; these will be your accounts with no internal competition or territorial overlap.
Typical customers are cabinet makers and countertop fabricators. In Hammond, a large portion of our customers are in the Commercial Millwork industry. Customers fabricate tops and cabinets for commercial settings (Hospitals, Universities, Banks, Government Buildings, Marine Industry, etc.). We also serve residential cabinet makers who work with contractors on new home builds and renovations.
Road time vs. office time typically: 90% road, 10% office. Overnight stays are usually 1–2 per month; some locations are reachable by day trips. You may occasionally cover Inside Sales Rep duties when others are on vacation.
Vendor (Product) training will be provided through thorough training events at several key vendors.
Note: Familiarity with this geography is advantageous due to hundreds of established accounts and expected growth.
Responsibilities
Handle current customer accounts and grow sales within the territory.
Prospect and develop new business to expand the customer base.
Manage accounts as if it is your own business; use follow-up skills to ensure customer satisfaction and repeat business.
Coordinate with internal teams to deliver quality service and reliable solutions.
Travel primarily on the road with occasional office days; support Inside Sales Reps as needed.
Qualifications
Two (2) years of demonstrated success in outside sales experience, preferably in the woodworking or industrial/distribution arena.
Bachelor's degree is preferred.
Advanced Excel skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Compensation & Benefits Compensation structure: $45k to $55k base plus Commission and automotive reimbursement. Includes 1.25% on branch gross margin plus a tax-free fixed and variable reimbursement for vehicle and fuel costs. Fixed costs cover insurance, licensure, taxes, and depreciation; variable costs cover mileage, fuel, maintenance, tires. Automotive allowance is in lieu of a gas card or company car. Estimated high-end gross pretax annual income for a top performer could range from $65k to $100k+ (first-year estimates, varies by performance and market factors).
