We are seeking a highly skilled IT Security Engineer to safeguard industrial control systems and operational technology across multiple automotive plants. The ideal candidate combines hands-on technical expertise, knowledge of industrial cybersecurity standards, and experience in high-volume manufacturing environments. This role is responsible for protecting MES, SCADA, PLCs, IIoT devices, robotics, and other automation systems against cyber threats, ensuring secure, resilient, and compliant operations. You will collaborate closely with IT, OT, Production, and Engineering teams to implement proactive security measures, respond to incidents, and maintain operational continuity. What You’ll Do
Develop, implement, and maintain OT security policies, standards, and procedures aligned with automotive and industrial cybersecurity frameworks. Monitor OT networks, devices, and systems for security threats, anomalies, and vulnerabilities. Conduct risk assessments, penetration tests, and vulnerability analyses on OT systems. Lead incident response for OT security events, coordinating containment, remediation, and post-incident analysis. Ensure compliance with ISO/SAE 21434, IEC 62443, and other applicable automotive cybersecurity regulations. Collaborate with IT and OT teams to secure MES, SCADA, PLC, robotics, and IIoT systems. Maintain access control, authentication, and logging processes for critical OT systems. Conduct regular audits, threat hunting, and system hardening activities. Train plant personnel on cybersecurity awareness, policies, and best practices. Evaluate, recommend, and deploy emerging OT security technologies for monitoring and threat mitigation. Implement and maintain security monitoring, logging, and alerting tools. Participate in incident reporting, executive briefings, and security reviews. Support new vehicle program launches with secure OT deployment and cybersecurity readiness. Document security policies, system configurations, and remediation plans. Stay current on emerging cybersecurity threats, industrial attack vectors, and defense strategies. Collaborate on disaster recovery, business continuity, and resilience planning for OT systems. When And Where
This will be a M-F position located at our Corporate Office in Walker, MI. Occasional early arrival, late stay, or weekend work may be required to meet customer needs, deadlines, or urgent requests. What You Need To Have
Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Industrial Engineering, or a related field (required). Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred. 3–5+ years of OT cybersecurity experience in manufacturing or industrial environments, with preference for automotive or multi-plant settings. Hands-on experience securing OT environments including MES, SCADA, PLCs, and IIoT systems. Proven experience in incident response and remediation in complex OT environments. Experience supporting high-volume production and new vehicle program launches is a plus. Strong knowledge of cybersecurity standards and frameworks such as IEC 62443, ISO/SAE 21434, and related industrial control system security practices. Proficiency with OT security tools, industrial network monitoring, threat detection, and endpoint protection. Familiarity with IT/OT convergence, cloud-connected OT environments, and digital manufacturing technologies. Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or equivalent are preferred. Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills. Ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams in fast-paced industrial environments. What We Offer
