Welcomes patients and visitors with an upbeat attitude and a warm, inviting smile, in person or by telephone; answers or refers inquiries. Provide high level customer service to support patient satisfaction, provider time, and treatment room utilization by scheduling appointments in person or by telephone. Generate a compilation of reports, logs and lists including but not limited to authorizations and verifications with a high level of accuracy. Ensure co-pays are tallied and reconciled; manage credit extended to patients. Call treating physicians to obtain updated prescriptions for treatment by Occupational and Physical Therapists. Obtain Plan of Care from treating physician and update system. Set up a new/returning patient case in Theraoffice, including demographic and insurance information. Keep patient appointments on schedule by notifying Clinicians of patient arrivals and reviewing service delivery against schedule; remind providers of delays as needed. Maintain availability of treatment information by filing and retrieving patient records. Maintain business office inventory and equipment: monitor stock, anticipate needs, place and expedite orders, verify receipt, and schedule equipment service/repairs. Maintain knowledge of Metro rules and policies and ensure compliance with stated parameters; perform other duties as required. Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines/regulations. Perform duties as assigned, including serving as a scribe for recording/editing therapeutic exercises under supervision of a Doctor of Physical Therapy and/or Occupational Therapy. Assist in treating patients by preparing heat/ice packs, paraffin dips, assisting patients to the pool, guiding exercises, and monitoring exertion levels. Ensure operation of treatment equipment by completing preventive maintenance, following manufacturer instructions, troubleshooting, and arranging repairs as needed. Educate patients by demonstrating proper use of equipment and exercise routines. Prepare patients for therapy by welcoming and assisting them into sessions; provide information and address questions/requests to alleviate concerns. Maintain patient confidence and protect operations by keeping information confidential. Maintain a safe and clean working environment by following procedures and regulations. Provide equipment and supplies by sterilizing and delivering to the treatment area, positioning equipment, and assisting therapists as needed. Prepare treatment rooms for patients following prescribed procedures and protocols. Answer calls from physician offices, hospitals, and patients with exemplary customer service. Maintain physical therapy supplies inventory; monitor stock, anticipate needs, place/expedite orders, and verify receipt. Provide front desk coverage as needed, including answering calls and assisting with scheduling. Performs other duties and assignments as required. Requirements

One (1) year of Physical Therapy/Medical office experience Experience with an EMR system is a plus Ability to communicate professionally and courteously with customers, co-workers, and management Current or recent experience in a medical practice ensuring compliance with federal, state and local regulations Team-oriented with strong interpersonal and communication skills Proficiency in Google Suite; ability to learn new programs quickly Customer-service oriented; one year of related experience strongly desired High school diploma or GED; knowledge of therapy equipment is preferred Knowledge of patient behavior and needs; knowledge of strengthening techniques and safety practices Ability to observe, evaluate, and record patient conditions; maintain appropriate attitudes and conduct Ability to create and maintain records and write brief reports; effective communication skills Salary

$17-$20/hour Employment type
