We operate six locations in Reno and Sparks, providing medical services, dental and pediatric care, behavioral health, low-cost pharmacies, nourishing food pantries, and more. Job Description summary: The Information Technology Support Specialist provides desk side support to all users within the organization, in partnership with other IT staff and department heads as required. Responsibilities
Provide end-user desktop support for software, hardware, and various infrastructure-related issues. Install and configure desktop computer system hardware and software (including operating system and applications). Install and configure printers and network-connected equipment. Daily management of internal support requests. Test and distribute security patches; remediate threats to the desktop environment (e.g., virus, spyware, malware). Participate in rollouts of new software/hardware and maintain/update PC images. Escalate issues as needed to co-workers and/or appropriate staff members. Maintain knowledge of general office practices and procedures; manage Active Directory changes. Knowledge of electronic medical record systems where applicable. Operate and use office software (word processing, spreadsheets, databases, email). Coordinate and conduct employee training and in-service trainings as needed. Support network security and data integrity; maintain confidentiality of patient and company information. Travel as needed; perform courier duties if required. Read, write legibly, and perform basic mathematics; solve practical problems with various variables. Readiness to work with other staff to build teamwork across CHA clinics. Communicate in a courteous and professional manner; respond appropriately to diverse population groups. Assess and respond to situations with good judgment; maintain a driver’s license as needed. Interpret and apply TCP/IP protocols and IPv4 addressing; manage network-related tasks (CAT 5e/6). Qualifications and Skills
Strong end-user desktop support for software, hardware, and infrastructure issues. Experience installing/upgrading Windows client operating systems (Windows 7 and 10) and Microsoft Office Suite (2007 to 2019). Experience with Desktop Authority, PDQ Deploy, and PDQ Inventory; ability to troubleshoot peripherals (scanners, printers, USB devices). Ability to read computer reports and correspondence; attention to detail and accuracy. Knowledge of public/inter-agency relations and ability to train staff. Ability to maintain confidentiality of information including patient financial and medical data. Ability to understand and respond to special population needs related to race, ethnicity, language, age, sex, etc. Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and accommodate reasonable physical limitations as needed. Knowledge/experience in server administration and hybrid Azure Active Directory with group policy management; desktop administration and support. Ability to travel as needed and demonstrate good judgment in decision making. Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or MIS, and three to five years of experience in a systems/network environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with applications to a medical or social service delivery system is preferred. Seniority level
