Overview Manages the day-to-day operations of the Asset Control Department, in accordance with Company policies and procedures and all applicable governmental laws and regulations.
Responsibilities
Assist and support the daily functions of our T&D/Field Services Operations by managing day-to-day procedures involved with the asset control process, including creation, deletion, and editing of company assets; capturing and posting GPS points within the service area; daily and monthly as-building into Power plan for construction, developer, and monthly blanket lines; and reconciliation of various assets (e.g., hydrants and new services).
Assist with preparing and controlling local construction, operations, and maintenance within established budget limitations. (10%)
Ensure local water and/or wastewater operations meet required standards and regulatory targets. (20%)
Supervise the implementation of standards, targets, policies, and plans to maintain and improve operational efficiency, effectiveness, and profitability. (10%)
Ensure operational integrity (quality, environment, reliability, health, safety, security, etc.) is maintained. (10%)
Develop and direct cost-effective solutions to meet customers’ expectations and technical requirements and to encourage best practice and innovation across all operational areas. (10%)
Implement effective reporting processes and provide analysis and support with information required for various reports, budgets, and business plans.
Implement and foster coaching and development of employees within respective functional areas.
Ensure effective people management policies and practices (e.g., time and attendance, workforce management) and ensure resources are developed and deployed appropriately.
Continue to reinforce the importance of developing a diverse workforce.
Support the Business Development function in operational analysis, pricing, and integration of water and wastewater business opportunities in both the regulated and non-regulated markets.
Work collaboratively with other functional leads to mitigate business risks.
Implement effective communications at all levels of operations and provide leadership to stay flexible in changing business environments.
Contribute to effective communication by listening and providing constructive feedback; support an open and honest work environment; cascade and share knowledge across the team and the business. (40%)
Knowledge/Skills
Detail oriented, organized, and capable of maintaining clear and accurate records.
Knowledge of the regulated water/wastewater business within the region and related regulations, requirements, and trends.
Knowledge of company policies and procedures and management theories, practices, and trends.
Expert knowledge of process and operational areas.
Some knowledge/experience with ESRI ArcGIS and GPS point collection preferred.
Some knowledge/experience with AutoCAD preferred.
Proficient in MS Excel and in reporting tools and functions.
Experience/Education
2-year or 4-year degree in operational discipline, management, or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
3–5 years of experience in supervising operational areas and meeting performance targets.
