University of California, San Francisco . VACCHCS — VA Central California Health Care System is recruiting for a full-time faculty member as Section Chief in Hematology/Oncology. This position is in the Department of Medicine Service, VACCHCS, affiliated with UCSF Fresno and requires a faculty appointment with UCSF at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor rank. The VACCHCS provides patient-centered care in an integrated environment that supports learning and continuous improvement. Teaching and supervising fellows in hematology and oncology, as well as residents in Internal Medicine, will be a component of this position. Responsibilities The Section Chief of Hematology and Oncology will have administrative functions and oversee the clinical and research growth of the section. The role includes teaching and supervising trainees and maintaining high standards of veteran-centered care. Specific responsibilities include: Provide leadership and oversight for clinical services, education, and research in hematology/oncology. Coordinate with affiliated UCSF Fresno programs and services; ensure compliance with VACCHCS and UCSF policies. Supervise fellows in hematology and oncology and residents in Internal Medicine. Foster high-quality clinical care and patient safety; promote continuous improvement and learning. Requirements Candidates must meet the following qualifications: Completed residency in Internal Medicine and a fellowship in Hematology/Oncology. Board certification in Internal Medicine and board certification or board eligibility in Hematology and Medical Oncology. Medical degree (MD, DO or equivalent) and eligibility for a US medical license. Eligibility for appointment at the VA and for a UCSF faculty appointment.
