VA CENTRAL CALIFORNIA HEALTH CARE SYSTEM (VACCHCS) – MEDICINE SERVICE / UCSF – Section Chief, Hematology / Oncology. California- Department of Veterans Affairs California Health Care System, Fresno, CA, affiliated with University of California- San Francisco, Fresno Medical Residency Program, leader in health care quality is recruiting for a full-time faculty member as Section Chief in Hematology / Oncology. This position is in the Department of Medicine Service, VACCHCS, affiliated with UCSF Fresno and requires a faculty appointment with UCSF; requirements for a faculty appointment must be met at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor rank. VACCHCS provides patient centered care, delivered by engaged, collaborative teams in an integrated environment that supports learning and continuous improvement. Teaching and supervising fellows in hematology and oncology as well as residents in Internal Medicine will be a component of this position. Therefore, we are looking for a provider with outstanding clinical and interpersonal skills who will provide the highest quality veteran-centered care.
Responsibilities
Provide administrative leadership for the Hematology and Oncology section, with oversight of clinical and research growth. Teach and supervise fellows in hematology and oncology as well as residents in Internal Medicine. Collaborate with affiliated UCSF Fresno and VACCHCS teams to deliver patient-centered, high-quality veteran care and to support learning and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
Completed residency in Internal Medicine and fellowship in Hematology / Oncology. Board certified in Internal Medicine and board certified or board eligible in Hematology and Medical Oncology. Medical degree (MD, DO or equivalent) and eligibility to obtain a US medical license. Eligible for appointment at the VA.
Location and Affiliation
Fresno, California. Located 3 hours south of San Francisco and near national parks such as Yosemite, offering year-round recreation.
Compensation
For positions exclusively funded by the affiliate organization: Fresno VACCHCS provided a reasonable salary estimate of $325,000–$365,000. Additional information can be found at the affiliated organization’s resources.
