Director of Nursing

Provide personal care to residents in a manner conducive to their safety and comfort, in alignment with Company Clinical Policies and Procedures and state/federal guidelines and regulations. Initiate and develop policies and procedures that govern the nursing staff in collaboration with appropriate services. Ensure nursing services are provided 24/7. Establish and maintain job specifications and descriptions for nursing staff. Address and support cultural practices when appropriate, and not detrimental to medical therapy. Recommend modifications to nursing staffing plans to ensure reasonable hours and acceptable working conditions for optimal resident care. Ensure incident documentation is complete and reported per Company policies and regulations. Represent nursing staff on committees such as Infection Prevention and Control, Pain Management, Performance Improvement, and Quality Assurance. Make rounds to all nursing units daily. Participate in performance improvement activities and data verification as needed. Collaborate with other departments to provide an interdisciplinary approach to residents’ needs. Ensure licensed nurses perform head-to-toe assessments and reassessments on all residents. Demonstrate knowledge of geriatric residents and evaluate licensed nurses’ abilities to assess and reassess residents. Interpret test results and take appropriate action; assess on admission and at least once per shift or when conditions change, documenting appropriately. Assess and manage residents’ pain, educate residents and families on pain management, and promote independence where possible. Maintain a safe, clean, hazard-free environment for residents, family members, and staff. Ensure equipment is clean and functional; report malfunctions to supervisor. Serve as a team leader and role model; adhere to abuse prevention policies. Notify physicians of changes in resident condition and follow through until appropriate action is taken. Implement the plan of care for residents as established by the interdisciplinary team. Attend required meetings and coordinate with Administrators and service managers for budgeting, staffing, and supplies. Oversee cost controls to maximize the effectiveness of department budgets. Follow infection prevention and control procedures and supervise staff accordingly. React decisively in emergency situations and perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Current RN licensure for the state of Oklahoma. Current BLS CPR card. RN with 5 years of nursing management experience preferred. Must maintain a working email address and phone number for employer communication. Ability to work cooperatively as a team member. Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and all levels of the organization. Ability to react decisively and quickly in emergency situations. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Knowledge of training techniques for clinical staff. Seniority level
