Supplier Quality Engineer (Parts Development SQD SPEC) – Perm Position
Our client is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to lead efforts in improving supplier quality systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and supporting production continuity. The role includes close collaboration with suppliers and internal teams to maintain high-quality standards across the supply chain.
Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and control procedures/tools to improve Supplier Quality Management System
Build and maintain strong supplier relationships for effective collaboration
Establish, maintain, and audit supplier quality standards and facilities
Support suppliers in implementing best practices and quality control processes
Monitor, enhance, and align internal and supply chain quality assurance processes
Investigate and resolve supplier quality issues; manage corrective/preventive actions
Track and analyze supplier quality KPIs; prepare and present performance reports
Drive continuous improvement and promote quality culture with suppliers
Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations
Maintain documentation and support internal/external audits
Identify and mitigate risks within the supply chain
Collaborate with Engineering (R&D), Quality, and Production Planners
Prevent supply chain disruptions and support production readiness
Organize and disseminate information related to suppliers and production
Maintain an up-to-date supply base information database
Perform other assigned duties as required
Required
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Management, Supply Chain, Finance, Accounting, or related field from an accredited university
High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel and PowerPoint)
Preferred
Minimum 5 years of related experience, ideally in the automotive industry
Background in Purchasing, APQP, PPAP, Supplier Development/Engineering, IATF 16949, Launch, or Program Management
Knowledge of manufacturing processes (e.g., injection molding, stamping, die casting, welding, paint, surface treatments, SMT, SMC, extrusion)
Experience with Six Sigma or other quality improvement methodologies
Previous OEM or major supplier experience strongly preferred
Bilingual (English/Korean/Spanish) preferred
Comfortable working in multicultural environments
Willingness to learn, adapt, and work flexible hours (including weekends, holidays, off-shifts)
Domestic and international travel required
