Summary The Inventory Control Technician is responsible for various data entry administrative functions supporting the warehouse management team. The Inventory Control Technician is also responsible for timely and accurately reconciling inventory discrepancies, determining root causes, and submitting corrective action recommendations. The Cycle Counter will participate in cycle counts, investigations, inventory discrepancies, monitoring of aged in transit reports, order verifications, and data entry to assist management in maintaining accurate inventories. This position is also expected to analyze the origin of all discrepancies and present recommendations to warehouse management.

Comply with all requirements of the safety program, including hazard recognition, housekeeping, accident and near miss reporting, proper use of all safety equipment and procedures, adherence to all safety rules, and reporting of safety issues is mandatory.

Management: support Company and management goals, objectives and policies by actions and words.

Communicate effectively with other departments as appropriate, providing information as requested.

Research and document all inventory related discrepancy issues including damaged inventory to provide an audit trail of problem areas and trends, and report problems/discrepancies to management.

Assist MHS with any issues relating to packing deliveries.

Print or reprint UCC 128 labels when necessary.

Create, Cancel, confirm with difference TO’s as requested.

Validate batch, item and quantity on Contract packaging receipt against BOL.

Filing completed paperwork.

Researching for managers or other departments.

Verifications of inventory received or packed for shipment to determine accuracy, validate procedures, and validate or recommend proper training of warehouse personnel.

Monitor and reconcile aged in transit reports.

All inventory discrepancies and 900 storage type account research.

Processing customer returns.

Follow established procedures to ensure all Finished Goods/Components are cycle counted and reconciled at designated intervals as outlined in the current SOP.

Document and report all inventory errors throughout the course of work performed.

Investigate and report to upper management and make authorized corrections of inventory discrepancies.

Safely operate a forklift, stock picker and standup.

Ensure effective utilization of production/warehouse area and control inventory counts.

Meets optimum inventory performance objectives as defined by the materials department.

Coordinates physical inventory audits and accounting.

Assist with maintaining organization in the warehouse.

Maintain inventory records for daily counts.

Excellent interpersonal skills to interface across the entire company.

Basic PC knowledge.

Ability to perform basic reading, writing, and math functions.

Basic math skills – addition, subtraction, division and multiplication.

Ability to recognize and read location and product codes/details.

SAP Knowledge a plus.

Ability to gain a working knowledge of systems provided by the company in a defined time.

Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Ability to handle stress appropriately and interact well with others.

Ability to maintain a strong sense of urgency and prioritize tasks.

Various forklift trucks, computers, general office equipment, and related programs.

Ability to learn the use of SAP as it relates to the inventory job function.

Travel Limited

Work Environment This role occasionally uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Worker will be exposed to ambient noise level in an office and warehouse environment. Temperatures can vary from cool to warm depending upon the season. The employee must comply with the assigned location PPE requirements including safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, clothing and shields for required tasks and closed-toed or safety shoes as required by facility safety policies. Worker may be exposed to physical conditions such as proximity to moving mechanical parts and atmospheric conditions such as fumes.

Sitting, walking, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, pushing, pulling, grasping, lifting, talking, and hearing. Occasionally lifting pallets up to 60 lbs. by hand, stacking finished good cases on a pallet up to 30 lbs. per case by hand, replacing stretch film into the automatic wrapper up to 30 lbs. by hand, and moving pallets of products weighing up to 2000 lbs. with a forklift. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to use hands to manipulate objects, tools or controls and talk or hear. The employee is regularly required to walk; stoop; crouch; bend and reach above shoulders. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 60 pounds unassisted and up to 200 pounds with assistance, waist high, up to 10 feet away.

Education Requirements High School Diploma/GED or equivalent required. Two years college in a related inventory or material handling discipline is preferred; however, experience in the field of material handling and demonstrated ability may be used to waive the academic background.

Experience Requirements 1-2 years of experience with inventory and quality from a manufacturing background is preferred.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Forklift operator certification or ability to obtain certification, required.
