Description
We are currently seeking a skilled Locum MD (Medical Doctor) or DO (Osteopathic Doctor) specializing in Obstetrics and Gynecology. In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing temporary medical services to our clients in Ahoskie. Your expertise will be vital in ensuring the well‑being of patients and contributing to the success of our healthcare staffing solutions. You will be involved in a variety of projects, from delivering babies to performing gynecological surgeries, all while maintaining the highest standards of patient care and professionalism.
Responsibilities:
Conducting routine check‑ups on pregnant women and providing prenatal care
Performing deliveries and assisting in cesarean sections when necessary
Diagnosing and treating various gynecological conditions
Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests such as ultrasounds and blood work
Consulting with patients on family planning and contraceptive options
Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care
Documenting patient information accurately and timely
Adhering to all relevant medical laws, regulations, and ethical standards
Requirements:
Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution
Board certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology
Valid state medical license to practice in Ahoskie
Proven experience working as an OB/GYN physician
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work well under pressure and make quick decisions
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Commitment to providing compassionate and patient‑centered care
Setting: Inpatient
Level II Nursery
Daily Volume: 2 inpatients, 2 admissions, 1 ED call
Deliveries: 19 per month
Support Staff: Anesthesia, general surgery on backup
EMR: Epic
Must be board‑certified
