Physician - Palliative Care - Royal Oak, MI. Corewell Health William Beaumont University Hospital is seeking a full time BE/BC Palliative Care physician. The inpatient Corewell Health Palliative Care team is seeking a compassionate physician to join them, splitting time equally between providing consults to adult patients in the Emergency Department and providing Palliative Care to inpatients. Corewell Health emergency departments experience high volumes of patients with serious illnesses requiring complex symptom management and end-of-life care discussions, often leading to prolonged ED stays and other challenges. The ED-embedded Palliative Care team will approach patients to provide health literacy, ascertain goals, and collaborate on disposition. The ED team can manage symptoms, facilitate goals-of-care discussions, and coordinate with other providers to improve outcomes and patient/family/provider satisfaction. Inpatient consultative care will also be provided, expanding on the foundation established in the ED. You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team including physicians, APPs, a social worker and a chaplain. Qualities needed for this role include compassion, flexibility, and a true desire to help patients. Responsibilities

Coordinate comprehensive care delivery for patients in the ED and inpatient setting, with opportunity for future outpatient involvement. Ensure operations comply with professional standards, applicable laws, accreditation, and regulatory requirements; practice in accordance with the Michigan Public Health Code. Deliver care that is culturally sensitive and preserves patient autonomy, dignity and rights; act as a patient advocate across disciplines. Communicate and collaborate with other health care team members within and outside Corewell Health; serve as a consult in area of expertise. Document in the medical record and dictate information as appropriate. Qualifications
