Overview

RN Women's and Children's Float Pool (FT) role at Wheeling Hospital. Premium Pay Eligible. Apply to be considered for this position. This role provides nursing care in an inpatient hospital setting using the nursing process with accountability, clinical knowledge, and independent nursing judgment. Responsibilities

For the delivery of nursing care through the nursing process with authority and accountability. Provide professional nursing care for patients in an inpatient hospital setting. Prioritize patient diagnoses, problems, and goals in collaboration with the healthcare team. Serve as a resource for patient and family learning needs. Coordinate with the interprofessional team to manage changing priorities. Function as an independent team member to provide safe, quality care. Mentor colleagues in clinical knowledge, skills, abilities, and judgment. Participate in development and continuous improvement of systems supporting patient care planning. Lead interprofessional teams to collaborate and consult effectively. Design innovations to improve outcomes and assist other nurses in developing research skills. Participate in collaborative planning to provide safe, high-quality, patient-centered care. Contribute to the development, implementation, and adherence to policies promoting patient health and safety. Advocate for patients’ rights to informed decision making and self-determination. Demonstrate leadership within the community/healthcare arena and engage the interprofessional team in holistic, culturally sensitive data collection. Integrate knowledge from global and environmental factors into the assessment process and identify resources to address cultural considerations. Recognize personal bias and disseminate educational findings to colleagues. Pursue lifelong learning and meeting competency requirements, including competencies related to charge nurse and/or precepting. Qualifications

Education, Certification, and/or Licensure: ADN, Diploma, BSN or higher degree Current unencumbered licensure with the WV Board of Registered Professional Nurses, or appropriate state board where services will be provided, as a registered professional nurse OR Current multi-state licensure through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC). Obtain certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire date. Experience: Two (2) years of nursing experience. Physical Requirements

NIOSH recommends minimizing manual lifting of patients; use lift equipment and patient handling aids as indicated. Heavy/Hard work: lifting, bending, standing, walking, and carrying 40+ lbs. Visual acuity within normal range. Hearing within normal range for clinical assessments. Working Environment

Protracted or irregular hours. Working around biohazards and infectious diseases. Working with or near the deceased and with water exposure. Working with patient care equipment with electrical hazards. Skills and Abilities
