The Wound Care Nurse role
specializes in proper wound care management by treating and monitoring wounds resulting from disease, injury, or medical treatments. You will assist with providing care that promotes quick and safe healing of various wounds, including surgical openings, ulcers, bed sores, feeding tube sites, and abscesses. Your responsibilities include assessing wounds, developing and implementing treatment plans, monitoring for infections, and cleaning wounds.
Responsibilities
Assess and treat wounds and monitor healing progress
Develop and implement wound care treatment plans
Monitor for signs of infection and other complications
Clean and maintain wound care areas according to protocol
Wound Care Nurse Licenses/Certification
Current valid LPN or RN license in state
Previous wound care experience
Wound care certification preferred
At least one year of LPN or RN experience in a Long Term Care setting preferred
