GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The purpose of this classification is to provide oversight within the Division of Accounting and guidance to other divisions while adhering to applicable reporting guidelines and laws. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor's degree in a field related to the job Eight years of related experience, four years must be supervisory experience Additional years of related education may substitute for years of related experience Additional years of related experience may substitute for years of education ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Assist in managing the Division of Accounting, including personnel and operations Ensures compliance with GASB, GAAS, GAGAS, Uniform Guidance and any other applicable federal, state, and local financial requirements Oversees accounts payable, payroll, general, and grants fixed and leased assets accounting Produces audited financial reports and statements Performs high-level data analytics, reconciliation of balance sheet accounts and transactions Creates and maintains division memos, forms, policies, and procedures Establish and implement process improvements for increased efficiency Communicates complex information effectively at all levels of government Performs related work as assigned SPECIAL LICENSE/CERTIFICATION

CPA or MSACC preferred SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

All positions require drug testing and background check before employment and may require a post-job offer physical as stated in Ordinances 21-14(b), 22-13 and 23-16. PAY / FILING DEADLINE

$87,174.88 annually. This position is not eligible for overtime (exempt); however, the city has a compensatory time leave program for employees that grants leave time for hours worked in excess of 40 hours. Pay Grade 529 HOW TO APPLY
