Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our public accounting firm, with responsibilities spanning both accounting services and tax preparation. This role involves managing day-to-day accounting operations for a diverse client base, preparing and reviewing financial reports, and handling individual and business tax returns. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with strong technical skills in accounting and tax, excellent client service abilities, and the capacity to manage multiple engagements effectively. Key Responsibilities

Accounting Services

Manage the monthly accounting cycle for multiple clients, including general ledger maintenance, bank reconciliations, and month-end close. Prepare and review accurate financial statements in accordance with GAAP or other required frameworks. Oversee or assist with AP, AR, payroll entries, and adjusting journal entries. Analyze financial data to identify trends or discrepancies and provide actionable insights to clients. Supervise and review work performed by bookkeepers. Assist clients with software setup, accounting process improvements, and technology solutions. Tax Preparation

Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, partnerships, S corporations, and C corporations. Ensure tax filings are in compliance with current regulations and deadlines. Conduct tax research and stay current on changes in tax laws and accounting standards. Support clients with IRS/state correspondence and notices as needed. Assist in preparation of tax projections and estimated payments. Serve as a trusted advisor to clients by maintaining proactive communication and delivering timely, value-added services. Participate in client onboarding, planning, and periodic meetings. Collaborate with other team members to ensure the highest level of service and support. Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field. CPA license or active progress toward certification strongly preferred. 3–5 years of experience in public accounting with a mix of accounting and tax responsibilities. Proficiency in accounting and tax software (e.g., QuickBooks Online and Desktop, UltraTax, Xero, and Wave). Well organized. We are an equal opportunity employer. Location: Atlanta, GA
