We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our independent insurance agency. This full-time, permanent position is ideal for a professional who enjoys a dynamic environment and is skilled in both corporate accounting and tax preparation. The ideal candidate will have 5-10 years of professional accounting experience, strong QuickBooks and financial reporting skills, and the ability to oversee bookkeepers while managing client relationships. A CPA designation is preferred. Full time 8:00AM-5:00PM Monday-Friday (Saturdays may be necessary during tax season)

Responsibilities Set up, train, and review client QuickBooks files to ensure accuracy and efficiency. Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow reports. Record and reconcile asset, liability, and capital account entries. Maintain and improve accounting controls by recommending policies and procedures. Identify and resolve financial discrepancies through detailed account analysis. Review and recommend improvements to accounting systems and internal processes. Participate in financial forecasting, budgeting, and standards setting. Supervise, assign, and review the work of bookkeepers to ensure accuracy and timeliness. Support the month-end and year-end closing process. Prepare and review corporate and business tax returns; provide tax planning and consultation. Communicate with management regarding project status, client issues, and recommendations. Build and maintain strong client relationships through clear communication and dependable service.

Requirements Bachelors Degree in Accounting or related field (CPA preferred). 5-10 years of professional accounting experience, including public accounting and corporate tax preparation. Advanced knowledge of QuickBooks, Excel, and financial reporting tools. Strong understanding of GAAP and corporate finance principles. Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. High attention to detail and confidentiality in all matters. Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across departments. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required.
