Responsible and caring individual needed to mentor and provide support to individuals with developmental disabilities at their job sites, and job development for individuals seeking employment in the San Diego County area. We have the following part-time position open in San Diego County: San Diego, CA - Fridays from 1:30pm-4:30pm. Starting Rate $22.01/hour. Plus mileage and cell phone reimbursement + bonus incentives for job placements $100-600 (prorated). In the Employment Coach role, you will support someone with: Job development, including resume building, practice interviews, learning new employability skills Transportation to and from work, and assistance with accessing their community Maintaining employment and productivity Discovering their interests, skills, and employment goals Creating a meaningful daily schedule by working with their circle of support Above all, we are about building healthy relationships. Develop a friendly professional and respectful relationship with the person(s) you are assigned to, and help them build positive relationships with co-workers, roommates, and neighbors. General Description
The Employment Coach is responsible for carrying out directives from the Support Manager, Director of Services, CEO, and Board of Directors. The highest priority is to ensure all IRI persons served receive service and support. Provide mentorship to the people we serve with a focus on health, safety, and quality of life services. Provide job development and on-the-job supports guided by PBIS and Instructional Support Strategies to help individuals secure competitive integrated employment aligned with their skills. Support the manager in gathering information for Individualized Support Plans (ISP). Utilize digital tools (Zoom, online learning platforms, online job searching) to support long-term employment goals. Maintain strong business relationships with employers and volunteer sites. Skills and Qualifications
Two years of college or equivalent experience preferred but not required. Job development and on-the-job support experience preferred but not required. Experience supporting people with disabilities, preferably in community integrated settings. Strong organization, communication and writing skills. Proficient with computers and online platforms for remote services. Positive behavior support training experience preferred. Commitment to full inclusion of all persons with disabilities and to integrated employment for all. Commitment to self-advocacy and person-centered planning. Flexible availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, as necessary. A comprehensive paid training program is provided at the time of hire and on an ongoing basis. Responsibilities
Understand and practice IRI mission and person-centered values. Interact respectfully with IRI persons served, stakeholders, and colleagues. Support IRI people served and help them achieve meaningful employment-related goals. Develop integrated work schedules and identify integrated work settings for placement. Provide encouragement for meaningful employment activities and conduct job site analyses. Implement adaptation strategies and devices as needed; support healthcare needs as required. Implement ISP goals and SMART objectives; monitor behavior support plans and data-based training decisions. Complete required documentation and attend trainings as assigned. Communicate updates to supervisor and circle of support; maintain appropriate professional attire. Report emergencies and collaborate on customized employment activities with the team. Contact prospective employers and facilitate job applications; train other coaches as needed. All other duties as assigned by supervisor and leadership. Physical Demands
